The Tag system allows you to mass-select either mail messages, old mail messages or news articles which you can then perform functions on them, as a whole. For example you may wish to tag an interesting news thread as well as a collection of e-mails you have received regarding the thread and save them as a plain text file to import into Microsoft Word.

Tag a message: The process of tagging is similar to that of marking mail or news items as read or unread, simply highlight the item or multi-select the items you wish to tag and press 'T'. The tag box (shown below) has been replaced in 2.20 by a drop down menu that appears at the top of the screen when one or more items have been tagged.

 

 

Processing Tagged Messages

There are a number of functions you can perform with your tagged messages. They are as follows:

Delete

Pressing 'Del' deletes all your tagged messages. This works in the same way as deleting mail or news articles except that you can delete both mail and news and kept mail in one go if they are tagged. Please note: The delete option completely removes the articles from the database. Once they have been deleted they cannot be recovered.

Save

'Save' allows you to export each message individually or as one consolidated file.

Print

'Print' allows you to print all the messages you have tagged to Windows default printer.

Untag

'Untag' simply untags all your articles without making any changes to them.

View

Cycles through all your tagged articles.

Decode

See decoding in a later section.

 

 

Resets the auto expiry flag for all tagged items.

 

 

Moves tagged mail from one mailbox to another. Select the target mailbox from the drop down menu.
