Appearance
Mail and News
Sign mail automatically
Appends the signature at the end of every new mail eliminating the requirement to sign each one individually. The current signature will be displayed for confirmation when the first item is auto-signed. The Sign icon on the toolbars for Write is then disabled.
Sign news automatically
As above but for news.
Include attachments on Save
Enabling the option will save a copy of any attachments when a message is saved. Disable the option if you only want the message text to be saved.
Sort news by date/time sent
By default, mail and news items are added to the database in the order in which they appear in the downloaded Zet packet. If a user composes an item and then defers sending it for a few hours, the database may show it out of sequence. Enabling the option will sort on the date/time field in the header.
Tip: If this is not important to you do not enable the option as there is a performance impact.
Sort mail by date/time sent
As above but for mail.
Sort newsgroup names
Shows the list of subscribed newsgroups in alphabetical order. Note that zetnet.announce will always be at the top of the list so that updates are readily visible.
Set X-No-Archive on for news
Any item posted to a public newsgroup may be archived and available for others to retrieve via a search engine. Setting the X-No-archive option will prevent the post from being archived. The option can be set for all posts that you create by using the Options screen, or turned on and off for an individual message by pressing the icon.
Warn if News follow-up is set
The header for a news item may contain a follow-up field. If present, a reply will be sent to this follow-up address and not to the newsgroup that the item was posted to. ZIMACS will warn you that the follow-up is set and ask if the reply should be sent to the follow-up or the original newsgroup.
Remove signature on reply
Removes the last signature when replying to mail and news.
Copy to clipboard on exit from edit
The text of a new mail or news item will be copied to the clipboard when Exit is pressed if this option is enabled. Main purpose is to preserve the text if you accidently press Exit instead of Send.
Show HTML source
Some messages may contain plain text followed by the equivalent in HTML format. By default ZIMACS will display both when reading mail and news. This option can be used to suppress the HTML display.
Retain sender on a re-edit
Re-editing a pending item by double clicking from the Main screen will send the item with the currently selected mailbox id. Enabling this option will retain the original mailbox id irrespective of the current selection.
Prompt when replying
Tick the box to suppress the 'Do you want to quote the original text" prompt.
Place cursor at end of text on a Reply
Tick the box if you prefer the cursor to be placed automatically at the end of the text on a reply.
Goto Next Unread after Delete
Moves to the next unread news item when deleting from within news read.
Log kill file actions
If enabled an entry will be written to the kill file log whenever a mail or news item is kill filed.
Show full mail address on caption bar
Only applicable if you have more than one mailbox. Shows the full mail address on the caption bar instead of just the friendly name.
Enable Deleted Items mailbox
Mail deleted by user action will be moved to this special mailbox when the option is enabled. Note: The Deleted Items mailbox must be defined first, see earlier topic.
Move KF'd mail to Deleted Items
Similar to above but affects mail deleted by the kill file.

Connection
Retain select dial point on restart
The select dial point option on the main screen is turned off by Zetcall when the connection completes. Enabling this option will leave select dial point selected. Some users prefer this if they regularly change from one connection method to another.
Send mail and news
Should be enabled unless you wish to do an Auto or Internet connect without sending pending mail or news items.
Defer downloads
There may be occasions when you wish to dial-in to send an urgent mail or news item but don't want to retrieve any messages that are waiting for download. Please note that the option will be disabled after three consecutive deferred connections and cannot be enabled until after the next normal connection. This is to prevent excessive amounts of mail and news being held on the server.
Close ZIMACS before connecting
By default this option is not enabled and ZIMACS / Zetcall run in "Classic" mode, i.e. ZIMACS will terminate before dialling a connection. Ticking the box runs ZIMACS / Zetcall in "ReSync" mode - ZIMACS will remain active when dialling a connection. For an Internet connection this allows Mail and News to be sent at any time whilst the connection is active by clicking on the "Send/Receive" icon on the Zetcall toolbar.
Note: This option is enabled only if you have converted the Zetnet database to version 3 format. Run ZetConv.exe to convert an existing database to the new format.
Log calls
Enables call logging, prior to 2.20 this option was only available in Setup.
Don't increment call costs when existing connection used
Bypasses the call cost update when using an existing connection
Prompt on exit if mail or news not sent
Issues a prompt if mail or news has not been sent when exiting ZIMACS. Note that the prompt is not issued if confirmations is on.
Auto dial
Drag the sliders to set the interval between auto dial calls and the maximum number of calls.
Appearance
Always use font
The font name and colour for reading and composing mail and news can be set in Zetset. The same font can be used for all screens if required by ticking the 'always use font' checkbox. Please note that a non-proportional font may cause some misalignment on the list boxes used on the main screen.
Use font size for Mail/News/Files lists
The font size set by the Setup program can be applied to the above lists if this option is checked.
Tip: You can change the font colour for mail and news textboxes using Zetset.
