Updating the Phonebook

On October 1st, some of the existing phone numbers used to connect to Zetnet will cease to operate. Consequently, users of ZIMACS are advised to perform the following steps to change the phone numbers dialled by ZIMACS.

1) Right click on the following link and select the "save link as" or "save target as" option, depending upon your internet browser.

2) You will be presented with a dialog box asking for a location for the saved file. Select the folder where ZIMACS is installed on your computer. Unless you specified otherwise when installing ZIMACS, this will be C:\Program Files\Zimacs-II.

3) You will be told that C:\Program Files\ZIMACS-II\active.pbk already exists, (or a similar message if ZIMACS is installed in a different location) and will be asked if you wish to replace it. Select "yes", and the file should download in a few seconds. Once download is complete please disconnect from the internet, but leave your internet browser open so you can follow the instructions for the next step.

4) If it is not already running, load ZIMACS. Tick the SelDP box at the top-right and click the Auto button. You now need to ensure that the correct option is selected for "Phone Number". Most users will need to select the 0845 Digital option. If you use the Freecall, Surftime or FRIACO services then you should select the appropriate option instead. Then click the "Save and Connect" button. The Zetcall window (similar to that shown below) will appear. The phone number being dialled is shown at the bottom right of this window; for 0845 users it should now display 0845 059 1022.
